Would You Kill To Own A Successful Online Business?
Sometimes I can’t tell whether having this drive to be an entrepreneur is a gift or a curse…I really can’t.
See, that way, I could day dream while I was filling out my TPS reports and go about my weekends with not a care in the world. Then there’s the real me. The one who has this burning, white hot need to own my own destiny. It sits top of mind with almost every waking moment, and sometimes, that can get overwhelming. But guess what, given the choice, I know which way I lean and always will.
HOWEVER, and this is big, I’ve got the bug so bad that it wasn’t good enough for me to just go out and start a profitable business online and run that.
No, I went way further.
In fact, I’ve spent the entire last year devising a way to give all of the people who are looking for very real Work At Home opportunities a way to actually make money. (Imagine that!)
I’ve got this ‘e’ disease so bad, that I figured out that there were too many people buying into program after program only to be let down because after they got through the manuals and the CDs and the DVDs and the ‘rah rah’ nightly phone calls, that there was no money being made.
So what did I do?
So what is the big reveal here? It is that after years of trial and failure I am now making money online each and every day by driving thousands of people from the search engines to my blogs and allowing them to buy what they want!
Trying to make it online is very tough…and most people go about it the wrong way. The right way to start a profitable business online is to find out what people are buying and then to compete for that traffic!
That is when everything changed!

Canon PIXMA MX340 tested
The Canon PIXMA MX340 is a member of Canon’s small-business range of inkjet all-in-one printers. They have fewer facilities for the photo enthusiast and more for the small office, so you can expect to see fax and an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), but not a memory card reader .
So without further ado, here we go . The large black and white box has a high-gloss top, which unfolds into a 30-sheet ADF , inset into the lid of its scanner. The front of the surround holds the control panel, which is a mono LCD display set in the middle. Although it is well used, with a good display font and icon-based status info, there’s no backlight, which can make it difficult to read, unless you have direct overhead light .
To the left hand side of the display panel are three large buttons for copy, fax and scan. To the right is a number pad for dialling fax numbers and on the far right are two large buttons for black and colour copies.
In the front panel is a small illuminated blue badge, which shows that the PIXMA MX340 has Wi-Fi , and a pull-down cover which opens automatically if you forget it when printing. A flap pulls open at the rear to provide an input tray, which can take up to 100 sheets .
At the back are sockets for USB, Ethernet and a fax line, but many people will choose to connect via wireless and setup is straightforward .
This four-colour machine uses two ink cartridges, one black and the other tri-colour, and these are easy to fit under the scanner section which hinges up . Canon ink cartridges are numbered PG-510 black low capacity, and CL-511 colour low capacity. High capacity cartridges are numbered PG-512 & CL-513.
Canon has taken to quoting more realistic speeds for its inkjet printers and claims 7.5ppm for black print and 4.5ppm for colour. Our 5-page black text document completed in 54 seconds, giving a real-world speed of 5.6ppm, but the 20-page document boosted this to 6.9ppm, which is not a million miles away from the quoted speed . The five-page text and colour graphics document produced a speed of 2.4ppm, though, little more than half the rated speed, which was not so good . The machine performed quite a bit of housekeeping before starting some of these prints and this time is normally excluded from ISO print speed tests .
A colour copy page completed in 41 seconds, while a 5-page black text copy from the automatic document feeder took one minute, 16 seconds; both of these times are quite acceptable for a machine in this price range and target market . A 15 x 10cm photo on Canon glossy photo paper, printed at High quality, took 1:21, but printing at Normal quality from a PictBridge camera, the time reduced to just 53 seconds
The photos were what we would expect from Canon, bright, vivid and full of detail .
Colour graphics on plain paper are pretty good, though there’s some noticeable dithering when printing lighter shades. Colour copies were adequate but with a little bleeding. Black text was general is reasonable, although we did see some feathering when using bold print fonts .
Using the high capacity cartridge variants produces costs of 4.3p for ISO black pages and 9.3p for ISO colour, both including 0.7p for paper. These costs are not great and other manufacturers machines do work out cheaper. Compatible cartridges are available for this printer and thus you could save money by using them.
Verdict
Canon’s PIXMA MX340 is a neat all-in-one machine, with reasonable speed, good fax facilities and fair print and copy performance. It’s quite expensive to run, though, and the print quality, unusual for a Canon machine, isn’t the best in its class .

You Get Google Traffic The Instant You Go “Long”
Hard as I look, I just can find anyone that is not looking to learn how to get Google traffic.
And this is all happening for very good reasons.
More and more of us are starting to understand that being able to get Google traffic is an absolute must.
I want to say this and let it be sung from the rafters, getting found through search, from someone that is actively looking for what you are selling will always be one of the easiest ways to convert. That said, no, Google traffic is not a flood to your site every day. What it is is a deluge of the most targeted visitors your site will ever feast on. That’s why knowing how to get Google traffic is so critically important!
Yet one of the biggest mistakes that most small business owers make is that they attempt to get ranked for keywords that are far too competitive.
Better said that that, why would you attempt to try to rank for keywords that you will never get to page one for when there are millions of others that you can and easily will?
The reality of search marketing for the smaller business owner comes down to specific long tail keywords…keywords that are at least three words in length. This is where you need to focus your attention to get that search traffic!
Having done this now for decades, I will tell you that by focusing your efforts on your long tail keywords, that is how you will start to get an unreal amaount of targeted visitors every day.
Again, the focus should be on attracting the best new visitors not the most. And you get the most by using your more descriptive long tail keywords. This is really how you start to get Google traffic.
The tragedy here is in the understanding. Attempting to rank for “golf clubs” is as simple as trying to walk across the sun with no shoes.
If what you are after is targeted online traffic, you get it by collecting your best long tail keywords. Period. End of story. Thank you and goodbye.
Once you ditch the notion that your best keywords are the most general ones, you start to see things here as they really are.
To get Google traffic, you have to narrow your focus and be a killer.
